In the beginning of the 3rd millennium the world community shows increased interest to Mars, and it happens not accidentally - as compared to the majority of the rest planets of the solar system (sizzling heat on Venus, deadly cold on Titan) conditions on Mars are more suitable for its exploration. Moreover, on Earth there are sand and Arctic deserts, where environmental conditions are very similar to Martian ones. And it means that people are able not only to land on the neighboring planet, but also to colonize it in the foreseeable future.

But first, before it happens, it is necessary to give answers to new questions, which are put forward by such interplanetary expedition to manned cosmonautics - it differs greatly from an orbital flight of comparable duration (1.5 - 2 years).
The Russian project "Mars-500" will be able to answer some of these questions. This experiment is a part of the federal space program and it presupposes conduction of the experiment on simulation of a manned flight to the Red planet, in which a series of conditions of such expedition will be simulated. This experiment is being conducted by the State scientific center of the Russian Federation - Institute for Bio-Medical Problems of RAS under aegis of Roscosmos and Russian Academy of Sciences.
The aim of the project is investigation of the system "man - environment" and obtaining of experimental data about the state of health and working capacity of the crew staying for a long time in conditions of isolation in hermetically confined environment of limited space during simulation of the main peculiarities of the Martian flight (over-duration, autonomy, changed conditions of communication with Earth - communication delay, limited consumable resources).
Among the tasks of the project is the task to determine whether such a flight is possible from the point of view of psychology and physiology (at the admissible level of simulation) and to work out definite requirements for the real expeditionary spaceship that will fly to Mars.

Selecting the candidates for participation in experiment, specialists of Institute for Bio-Medical Problems of RAS used our devices: electroencephalograph-analyzer "Encephalan-131-03" with electrode sets "Encephalan-ES" (see the picture).

Arab Health 2010 - the greatest international exhibition and conference in medicine and pharmaceutics in Middle East.

Every year since 1977 in Dubai (UAE) Arab Health exhibition has taken place. In the year 2010 it will be held from 25th till 28th of January. There will be thousands of manufacturers, suppliers and medical devices distributors, civil servants, medical specialists, journalists and many others.

More than 5000 delegates will take part in the international specialized congress. The congress will give the delegates an opportunity to learn about the latest advances in science and their medical implementation which allows improving the results of patients' treatment.

Arab Health 2009statistics:
Arab Health 2009 occupied 65 000 square meters of exhibition area. More than 55000 specialists from 145 countries visited the exhibition, about 2000 companies represented their production and services.
According to the survey, 96,4% visitors admitted that quality of goods and services met or exceeded their expectations. 96,7% visitors said they intended to attend Arab Health 2010.

From 18th to 21st of November our company took part in the international medical exhibition MEDICA-2009.

Visitors of our stand could see the latest developments of our diagnostic equipment for neurophysiology, epileptology, somnology and rehabilitation.

But all of them were mostly interested in portable telemetric electroencephalograph-recorder "Encephalan-EEGR-19/26" with its modules and sensors working in wireless piconet. Small dimensions, minimal number of cord connections and possibility of different hardware configurations creation enlarge the field of application of our EEG-device from ambulatory EEG studies to neuromonitoring. For the first time at this exhibition we presented the new equipment for polysomnographic studies "Encephalan-PSG" which is highly competitive with its foreign analogues - great visitors' interest confirmed this fact.

Rehabilitational psychophysiological complex "Rehacor" was also of great demand - due to wide range of recorded indices and flexible software from professional psychophysiological testing and non-medicated rehabilitation with BFB to personal private use even at home.

Specialists dealing with myography and evoked potentials study could have a look at new capabilities of "Neuromyan" neuromyoanalyzer and provide support for its high level of hard- and software capabilities.

With the help of the exhibition we showed our achievements, felt the new trends in medical world development, better understand customer requirements and find new commercial contacts.

The main topics of MEDICA 2009 are electromedicine and medical devices, laboratory and diagnostic equipment, physiotherapy and orthopedics technologies, medical goods, information technologies, communication system, textile fabrics, furniture and building for medicine.

Traditionally MEDICA takes place at the same time with ComPaMed exhibition (18th - 20th of November), of more than 500 participants, which represents high-tech medical equipment, from raw materials, components, intermediate products and packing to microscopy and nanotechnology (hall / pavilion 8a and 8b).

New hardware developments for polysomnographic studies are supplied with unique software in which the automatic hypnogram building mode is realized.
This mode is based on the Ph.D. thesis defended by our colleague E.S. Zakharov (a diploma DKN ¹ 072224, 12.12.2008) on the topic "Development of a method and algorithms of automatic detection of sleep stages and hypnogram building".

With reference to the author's analysis algorithms are developed, programs are coded and approved, that can be qualified as a new contribution to the solving of a problem of polysomnographic night sleep studies automation.
The author having studied all algorithms available for analysis used in Russian and foreign developments, selected the optimal complex of mathematical methods. As the practical approbation of the given work showed, proposed combination of numerical methods is quite effective for matching with the hypnogram built by experts exceeds 85%.

Our production list now has a new item - polysomnographic studies.

Devices are manufactured in 4 modifications that take into consideration international requirements to such study type carrying out. This small device ensures the comfort of recording of necessary indices in sleep. In addition to that one can combine autonomous PSG data record on the integrated memory of a portable device at patient's home, in natural environment, with synchronous videorecord of the patient's motility and with audiorecord of what is happening in a specially equipped hospital room.

From 23 to 25 of June took place the planned audit for the purpose of ordinary periodical assessment of the Quality Management System of the manufacturing.
Medicom MTD again complied with the requirements of the international standards ISO13485:2003, ISO 9001:2008 and MDD 93/42/EEC, Appendix V for the manufacturing medical devices.

Medicom MTD obtained new European certificates. In order to sale our equipment in Europe our company has a right to mark equipment for EEG studies and equip-ment for rehabilitation with biological feedback also meant for psychological and psychophysiological test-ing, with CE mark.

Swiss company Amidzic Laboratories has developed the electrophysiological method for cognitive talent identification in various sports like soccer, volleyball, basketball, tennis, chess etc. This additional information can help the club management, trainers, sportsmen and their parents in making decisions on the future sport carrier. The 13th European Congress on Neurophysiology in Istanbul went off very lively and interestingly for great number of clinical neurophysiologists from all over the world was present.

Reports were made simultaneously with sessions in several rooms from 8 a.m. till 8 p.m. Professor V.V. Gnezditsky made a report on the topic "Experience of use of EEG ambulatory monitoring in the clinical praxis".
