"Encephalan-FBA"*

Software for functional brain asymmetry analysis "Encephalan-FBA" is an additional analysis method, meant for depth evaluation of EEG cortico-cortical (interhemispheric, intrahemispheric, regional) interactions for study selected fragments using coherence, cross-correlation and cross-spectrum functions values.

At analysis of functional brain asymmetry, calculation of matrixes of selected function values is carried out between every derivation and all rest derivations for every ensemble of EEG selected fragment. On cortico-cortical couplings maps, derivations are connected with each other by pairs with the color lines, color and weight of which correspond to coupling weight gradation (calculated function value), specified for every derivation pair. On cortico-cortical couplings maps only those couplings are reflected, weight of which exceeds specified threshold on color scale.

Data visualization capabilities:

  • Visualization of interhemispheric and intrahemispheric parameters, calculated using cross functions:
    • coherence;
    • cross-correlation;
    • cross-spectrum.
  • Calculation of interhemispheric and intrahemispheric parameters using one of the methods:
    • by full matrix of all EEG derivations engaged in record;
    • by horizontal depends only (interhemispheric);
    • by vertical depends only (intrahemispheric);
    • manual selection of couplings for the calculation.

  • Results stepwise visualization by analysis single epochs for cross-correlation and cross-spectrum.
  • Coupling maps creation by cross-correlation using the whole frequency range or selected frequency ranges.
  • Possibility of color scales customizing for significant couplings visualization by cross-correlation (bipolar color scale considering correlation mark), cross-spectrum and coherence.

Split mode allows viewing data of one study, or several studies, including an option of presenting results and their math analysis in various forms.

Storage of studies in a database "Cardfile" with a option of export and import of studies, and archiving of data on a variety of external media. There is an option of arrangement of the "Cardfile" database in the network on a dedicated server. Results export to text file (ASCII format).

Data print options. Convenient preparation and printing of analysis results, conclusions on a study with a special Print Manager tool.

Software "Encephalan-FBA" is the optional software to the following equipment:
